April gone quick from Tehran to Hawick

I had a great screening of VHS Diaries at Goldsmiths University for Visual Anthropology students. Thanks to Shireen Walton and the students for the great conversations after the screening.

Jonah is 5 years old. We made a quick trip to Tehran. I keep shooting at Meygoon on every visit and this time I had the great chance to see my aunt and we talked about her memories of the cold winter during the war when she and my cousins took refuge in the garden to keep safe from air raids. Ukraine resonated deep feelings for us. We remember war. I treasure even the short visits and chances of spending time with my family and giving Jonah those special times to build memories of his mother’s land.

I am so happy to be heading to Scotland to Alchemy Film Festival. So excited to be there after some online and distance participations.
