Autumns‘s tightrope walking

Most of what used to be normal daily life activities feel like walking on a tightrope. It is much harder to travel these days and I need to visit my dad. Who knows what life might bring in these days. Jonah is back to nursery .He is happy but for me it is like walking on the edge of knife.

I am showing a film in the good old Shahre Farang as part of Centre of Gravity exhibition in Bristol. It is not a peep box anymore as it cannot really be used  in a socially manner these days. So I reversed the peep box in to projection booth .I am putting a super 8 projector and showing a film from a single hole at the front. The film is called Missing Commas taken from the name of nursery rhymes that I came across in the Puffin book of nursery rhymes. These are amazingly surreal, magical and dark rhyme .My old boss Mikey Price kindly sang them for the film. The film cast are James, Jonah and Bowie Cat (the neighbour’s cat) and we re-enacted scenes inspired by old sci fi film like Invaders from Mars but adapted to current Corona virus, Pangolin, bat and human interaction.

This is the first film I cut on analogue film.I think I have workflow set up.

Ghazal no 884 By Bidel will be screened as part of Programme 1,curated by Hetain Patel on Visions in the Nunnery 2020.

Today marks the first year of my mum’s passing. Times does not heal some wounds.
