Back to Bristol

Me and J man got back to UK after 8 emotional months of staying in Tehran with my mum and rest of family. This was the longest I have stayed in Tehran since I left in 2006. It was an intense period both for my family and also for the country as the American’s started a new round of sanctions which showed their impact on day to day life of ordinary people. I tried to share and show parts of my home town to Jonah and by the end of our stay he could speak few words of Farsi.
I am back with lots of doodles, sketches, collages and eight rolls of super 8 films that are so precious I am so scared of developing them in case something goes wrong. The expired films some times are not straight forward and my lovely Zenith camera wasn’t doing its best light reading.
I worked on another short Super8 film while I was in Tehran and in the mean time “The Grand Hall of books” was screened as part of BEEF screening in Strange Love Festival and will also be screened at Fracto Festival next month.
